Special circumstances grant

These grants are provided to rectify or address an immediate problem for a family or individual affected by EB following an assessment by a medical professional or our team.

Each application request is dealt with in confidence and may be subject to medical recommendation and the availability of funds.

About

Am I eligible for this grant?

You are eligible to receive this grant if:

  • You are living with EB or a member of your household is living with EB OR; you are a parent or spouse bereaved by EB.
  • You are living in the Republic of Ireland.
  • You are currently registered with our Debra support team. If you are not already registered with us, we would be more than happy to accept your grant application after you complete your registration.
  • You are able to provide relevant receipts of purchase (see terms and conditions for acceptable receipts)

 

 

 

How much will I receive?

We may not be able to provide 100% of your requested amount. The grant awarded will be based on the cost of the service/product, eligibility, and funds available to us at the time. It is also subject to an assessment by a medical team or Debra.

How does the grant process work?
  1. Complete our grant application form below.
  2. The support team will be in touch should they require any further documentation such as a medical recommendation letter.
  3. You will then be informed of the success of your application and the total amount that will be awarded.
  4. Send any outstanding receipts and supporting documentation to our family support team by email or post. We cannot provide you with your grant unless all necessary supporting documentation is received.
  5. Your grant will be processed at the end of that month and you will receive your grant via bank transfer within the first two weeks of the following month.

Terms and conditions
  1. This grant is subject to assessment by a medical professional or Debra support team member.
  2. A recommendation letter or email from a healthcare professional must be submitted for any item or service for medical or healthcare purposes
  3. All receipts must clearly state the date of purchase, the company name, the product and proof of purchase.
  4. Debra cannot accept credit or debit card receipts.
